DADDY'S POEM

Comments

Its a good email isn't it Shobha - it certainly grips the stomach and moves the heart, no matter the 2nd or 3rd time read.
Just shows you how powerful the message is by the eloquences of well written words and those with this enviable talent.

Its 'tough' one to read alright!
I must say that this poem had me on the edge of my seat and kept me in suspense. Very heart-rending indeed Shobha. But i must say that i can also hear echoes of similar poems by the parents of the 375,000 children who died as a result of UN/US-sponsored embargoes against Iraq - which madeline albright said was 'worth the price'. I wonder what that 'price' bought the US sometimes.

Thanks for this Shobha, it made me feel in some tucked away places in my heart.

ed:)
Yes...it had me in tears when i read it...and when i thought about all thekids who had lost their fathers as the result of this madness called terrorism, though i also agree with what Ed had to say in his comment !!!! America initiates violence but it is innocent common people who suffer!!!
I agree completely with you Ed...that's what happens when megalomaniacs initiate violence...then common people suffer...innocents whether american or iranian dont matter...
